From Hong Kong, our usual postal services currently no longer allow us to ship merchandise normally to the United States.
From France, the new procedures required for shipping and customs clearance of merchandise destined for the United States can no longer be handled through our traditional postal process. We therefore have to use a specific shipping solution that is considerably more expensive. For a small parcel containing, for example, a single snorkel, the shipping cost alone can consequently amount to two to three times the value of the product itself.
On top of this shipping cost, U.S. import duties, taxes and customs fees are added, and we do not necessarily know the final amount at the time of shipment. On a recent shipment, these additional charges, which were invoiced to us afterwards, were actually higher than the shipping cost itself.
Under these conditions, we unfortunately can no longer offer individual shipping to the United States at a reasonable and predictable cost.
The United States has been one of YLON’s historical markets for many years, and we sincerely regret this situation.
Are you a swimming club or team?
For larger club orders, we may still be able to find a solution.
One of the best options is to arrange the shipment through the club’s own U.S. FedEx account. This makes it possible to determine the shipping and import costs in advance and gives us a clear basis on which to work.
Once the quantity and overall costs are known, YLON can work with the club on the commercial conditions of the order to help make the total cost reasonable for both sides.
We have already been able to find workable solutions for larger shipments to U.S. clubs using this approach.
